Action Alert: Protect JFS's Home Care Program; Urge Opposition to HB 3186
HB 3186 places Jewish Family Service's home care services for aging adults at risk. This legislation is designed to help capture new resources for home care and adult day health services. However, if this bill passes, it will mean additional fees totaling nearly $70,000 and no additional public resources for Jewish Family Service.
This additional burden will put JFS's home care program in jeopardy. If JFS can no longer provide home care services, it will mean over 130 older adults will no longer be able to receive help for bathing, taking medication, dressing and grooming, meal preparation and transportation. It is not just clients who would be affected; more than 100 employees — almost a third of which are full-time — could lose their jobs.
Please take a moment to email your State Representatives and urge them not to support HB 3186.
