Since our founding in 1928, the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle has served Jewish Puget Sound in countless ways. We are proud of the significant part we have played in building a strong and thriving community. When the community’s needs have changed, the Federation has adjusted and adapted to meet those needs.
We have arrived again at a time for change. Our community has thriving centers of Jewish life, but as we look ahead, we see a clear need, as demonstrated by the 2014 Greater Seattle Jewish Community Study, for creating and strengthening Jewish engagement opportunities for a growing and very diverse community. Consequently, we are pivoting to meet Jewish Puget Sound’s needs today and in the years ahead.
Vision and Statement of Need
The Jewish Federation commits to creating Jewish Connections for Life – ensuring that all Jews can participate in Jewish life in any way that fits their interests and passions, at every stage of life. We are impacting the community in two significant ways:
1) We are continuing and deepening investments in our core work, which opens doors to Jewish engagement, advocates for community priorities, builds people-to-people bonds with Israel and World Jewry, and secures a financial foundation for Jewish engagement and other services for generations to come.
2) We will make high-impact investments, beginning in 2016, to ensure that Jewish life is accessible to all, by setting goals, working with strategically selected partners, and marshaling resources for focused investments that will be data-driven, transparent and measurable. With your generous support, we will achieve our vision of creating Jewish Connections for Life.
