A Transformational Gift from the Loeb Family to Secure the Future of Jewish Leadership in Washington State
October 31, 2024
The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle is honored to announce the establishment of the Francine R. Loeb Leadership Institute—an extraordinary investment in our flagship leadership development program, the Courageous Leadership Institute. This is made possible through a visionary gift from the Loeb family, whose commitment to Jewish leadership will empower our community for generations to come.
At a time when we are working to address many urgent challenges at once, this transformational seven-figure gift from the Loeb family sends a clear and inspiring message: our future matters. With their foresight and generosity, the Loeb family has made it possible to continue our important work and also invest deeply in the leaders of tomorrow. The Francine R. Loeb Leadership Institute will cultivate and equip future leaders who will serve Jewish organizations across Washington State. This is not just an investment in one program; it is an investment in the long-term vitality of every Jewish organization in our region.
This Institute celebrates the legacy of Frankie Loeb, a beloved leader in Puget Sound and the Federation’s first female Board Chair. Frankie’s impact is woven into the fabric of our community, from her leadership in resettling Jewish refugees through Operation Exodus to her vision in hosting the 1996 Jewish Federations of North America General Assembly in Seattle. The Loeb family’s gift ensures that Frankie’s spirit of courageous leadership will live on, inspiring new generations to carry our community forward with strength, resilience, and purpose.
The Francine R. Loeb Leadership Institute will provide coaching, mentorship, and unique learning opportunities, empowering emerging leaders to tackle the community’s most pressing challenges. Additionally, we are proud to introduce the Francine R. Loeb Courageous Leadership Award, which will annually honor a community member whose lifetime of volunteer service reflects Frankie’s values and dedication.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle is deeply grateful to the Loeb family for their investment in future leadership and their extraordinary vision for our community. The Francine R. Loeb Leadership Institute is a legacy that will ensure our rising leaders are equipped to shape a strong, meaningful Jewish future.
