JCRC Director's Note

L’hitraot, Until We See Each Other Again

October 7, 2022

I hope your Rosh Hashanah celebration was sweet and memorable and that you had a meaningful Yom Kippur. I always look forward to the High Holidays as a precious time to be with family, reflect, and to set positive intentions for the year ahead.

Setting intentions is especially salient for me this year, because tomorrow, I will be going on parental leave for a few months. While I’m away, the work of the Jewish Community Relations Council will continue at full speed. My highly capable colleagues at Federation and our dedicated lay leaders will see to that!

During my absence, we’ll be sending you a monthly email feature, “In Their Own Words,” in which each of our JCRC committee chairs will talk about their work and why the JCRC brings so much value to our community. If you have any thoughts or ideas to share please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team at jcrc@jewishinseattle.org.

The JCRC has made a difference in strengthening relationships within and beyond our Jewish community and making Jewish Puget Sound’s voice heard on issues that touch all our lives. I’m so grateful for everyone who has contributed their time and talent to making the JCRC a force for good.

Keep up the great work and I’ll see you in the spring!

Kol tuv,

Max Patashnik
Director of JCRC and Government Affairs
