This year, over 400 Jews from across Washington State participated in the Public Policy Priority Survey led by the Federation’s Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC). Representing more than 70 Jewish organizations and congregations, your responses gave us a detailed understanding of the community’s priorities. These insights are now shaping the JCRC’s legislative agenda for 2025 to ensure that these concerns guide our advocacy efforts.

When asked which issues should take priority, the community’s voice was clear:

  • 97% of respondents emphasized the need for increased safety and security for Jewish spaces, Holocaust education, and hate crime prevention.
  • 96% highlighted combating antisemitism as a critical concern.
  • 82% underscored the importance of defending Israel from delegitimization efforts and maintaining the separation of church and state.

While antisemitism remained the top concern for respondents, addressing it in education emerged as a key priority for this year. Support for Israel and coalition-building also ranked highly.

This survey identifies what matters to you and what we do next. The JCRC is working closely with local Jewish agencies, its Public Advocacy Committee, and trusted partners in other communities to refine and finalize the legislative agenda. These collaborative efforts ensure that our work reflects the needs of Washington’s Jewish population while building bridges with other groups.

Lobby Day is where we bring these priorities to life—and where every voice, including yours, can make a difference. On Thursday, Feb. 6, join us at the Washington State Capitol to meet directly with legislators. Together, we’ll advocate for policies that improve safety, enhance education, and foster stronger partnerships between communities.

This event is open to anyone who wants to make an impact. Whether you’re a university student eager to experience advocacy firsthand, a long-time community member passionate about change, or simply someone ready to stand up for what matters, Lobby Day is your chance to get involved. It’s an opportunity to meet like-minded individuals, learn the ropes of legislative advocacy, and ensure our priorities are not only heard but acted upon.

Registration for Lobby Day 2025 is now open! Don’t miss this chance to shape the future for the Jewish community in Washington and beyond.
