Jewish Security Professionals Convene for 2024 Secure Community Network Summit

Andrew Chadick, Director of IT, Building Operations, and Community Security at the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, joined a cohort of security experts in Las Vegas this month at the Secure Community Network (SCN) Summit. The annual gathering brought together over 150 professionals, including leaders from Jewish Federations nationwide, to address the latest threats, trends, and best practices in community security.

“The progress we’ve made together is remarkable,” said Michael Masters, the National Director and CEO of SCN. “From our humble beginnings, we now have over 150 security professionals united in a sophisticated security shield protecting Jewish life across North America.”

As the official safety network for the North American Jewish community, SCN was founded by the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations (COP). SCN collaborates with law enforcement, government agencies, and local organizations to provide essential training, resources, and support. Chadick, who leads the Federation’s SAFE Washington program, applies SCN’s training and insights to enhance local security initiatives each day.

SAFE Washington provides vital resources for Jewish organizations across the state, including real-time threat alerts, security training, and collaborative efforts with local law enforcement to monitor antisemitism and other instances of harm.

Throughout the summit, Chadick gained valuable insights and through practical advice offered by distinguished speakers, alongside breakout sessions that allowed for connections and the sharing of best practice and emerging technologies among the various Federation system attendees.

“This experience will directly benefit our community,” said Chadick. “I’m excited to implement strategies and collaborate with our local and regional partners to strengthen our security network.”
