The horrific terrorist attacks on our Jewish homeland have caused terrible harm to our mishpacha. The needs for assistance are urgent, unprecedented, and growing. Israel needs our help now.
To rally our community in support, the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle launched an Israel Emergency Fund for our community to raise funds locally to support the imperative work of our international partners through Jewish Federations of North America. JFNA is the national organization best equipped to assess needs holistically and ensure dollars are put to the most effective use.
Every dollar (up to $200,000) donated to the fund on or after November 1, 2023 has been matched, thanks to the generosity of Carl and Joann Bianco and the Loeb Family Foundation.
One hundred percent (100%) of all funds raised locally has gone directly to our partners in the field to support victims of terror, help rebuild damaged infrastructure, and address the unprecedented levels of trauma caused by this horrific attack. Your donation helps provide immediate assistance ranging from basic needs to evacuation housing, care, and aid to the most vulnerable. Take action to urge Congress to pass the emergency supplemental funding request.
Jewish students and faculty members feel uncomfortable, scared and unsafe on campuses and Jewish students are being assaulted, intimidated, and harassed because of their beliefs. Urge the Department of Education to send a clear signal to colleges and universities across the country that hate has no place on campus.
Given the rapid and troubling circulation of misinformation related to the Israel-Hamas war, A More Perfect Union put together some resources to navigate these troubled waters.
Many of the chants used at pro-Palestinian rallies as well as the anti-Israel epithets thrown in the faces of Jewish individuals contain harmful subtext that is not always well understood. The JCRC in San Francisco put together this resource to show how harmful, hateful terminology is used to attack and harass Jews, whether or not they are supporters of Israel.
Share love and support for families of the hostages currently in Gaza by writing letters and sharing art and photos here. The letters are not family specific – however, they will be shared in total with all the families. Thank you to the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland for launching this campaign!
